Newcastle, the City of Bridges

Newcastle upon Tyne is quite an ancient city, founded by the emperor Hadrianus. The name comes from the new castle built here hundreds of years after that. Nowadays, there is only a small part of the castle, which otherwise had to make way for the railway.
